Saturday 9th Feb. A day in Torquay

Kay and Ian have invited us to stay with them in their home for the weekend. The traffic is busier during the weekends and Torquay is a beautiful place so we thought it a good opportunity to have a look around.
We decided to have a day off the bikes today, our first totally non cycling day of the holiday. We set of on foot to the beach and walked along the shore. There is a superb coastal path called 'The Surf Coast Walk' starting in Torquay which we followed for 6.5 km to a lookout point called Bird Rock Lookout. There were fantastic views of the surfing beaches. It was then time to turn back. We went for a fish and chip lunch in the centre of Torquay before having a snooze on the beach and a swim. All in all a more exhausting day than cycling. Brilliant though with sore feet rather than a sore bum.
Half way through our holiday now! It is going so fast.
